10 million passengers: our 3 Cambodian airports hit new record

On December 18, Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and Sihanoukville international airports celebrated the reaching of the 10 million passenger mark, combining all passengers arriving to and departing from the 3 airports.

After Santiago airport which reached 22 million passengers, the 3 Cambodian airports of Phnom PenhSiem Reap and Sihanoukville have also hit a new milestone of 10 million passengers for the year 2018. Eric Delobel, CEO of Cambodia Airports, stated that “connectivity and synergies between the 3 airports have significantly contributed to bringing in more and more passengers to the Kingdom”.

Looking to ensure sustainable development in each airport of its network, VINCI Airports has been supporting growth in Cambodia since 1995. The continuous increase in air traffic – the number of passengers has doubled over the last 5 years – comes as a result of a proactive approach with the airlines and all stakeholders. In line with this, VINCI Airports has initiated an ambitious program of investment and contributed to the modernization and expansion of Phnom Penh airport’s runway to support the increased number of passengers.
