Puerto Plata, Santo Domingo, Samaná El Catey International (AZS), La Isabela International (JBQ), María Montez International (BRX) and Arroyo Barril (EPS) airports have met all the necessary requirements to enter the Airport Carbon Accreditation Programme at level 1.

This first ‘Mapping’ step of Airport Carbon Accreditation requires carbon footprint measurement and external audit of the data. This achievement of all the six airports at once, and also the first ones in the Caribbean, was a big challenge taken up by the team of Aerodom. This new step reflects the commitment of VINCI Airports for all of the airports in its network to obtain and maintain Airport Carbon Accreditation. VINCI Airports has indeed developed a comprehensive environmental strategy, entitled AirPact, which establishes strong goals for 2020.

Airport Carbon Accreditation is the only institutionally-endorsed, carbon management certification standard for airports. It recognizes and accredits the efforts of airports to manage and reduce their carbon emissions. There are four levels of certification: 'Mapping', 'Reduction', 'Optimization' & 'Neutrality'.
