Airport of the future: Powered exoskeletons are entering the VINCI Airports network

After pilot tests were carried out in June and July 2019, during which the results were very positive, Kansai Airports will deployed in large scale powered exoskeletons in the international cargo area of Kansai International Airport (KIX) on September 24, 2019.

The objective of this innovative system, also call ATOUN MODEL, is to reduce the physical strain on workers involved in sorting air cargo in the warehouse by introducing advanced technologies, with safety and security being an absolute priority, while meeting the growing demand for air cargo.

This progress illustrates VINCI Airports' willingness to improve its safety services and working conditions  through appropriate innovative investments and the creation of operational synergies throughout the airports of its network.
