Belfast airport welcomes the reopening of Ryanair base
Belfast International Airport, managed by VINCI Airports, will welcome back Ryanair, Europe's number one airline, from summer 2023.
From 2023, Ryanair will operate over 115 weekly flights from Belfast to 12 destinations such as Faro, Barcelona-Girona, Alicante and Malaga.
Belfast International airport is the main platform in Northern Ireland and the second largest airport of the island after Dublin. This reopening is an asset for the region as it will create 60 direct jobs and over 400 indirect jobs.
From Belfast, Ryanair’s Director of Commercial, Jason McGuinness said:
“At a time when other airlines are cutting their schedules and reducing their workforce, we are delighted to announce yet another new Ryanair base at Belfast International Airport with 12 exciting routes and 2 based aircraft representing an investment of $200m at Belfast International and creation of almost 500 direct/indirect jobs. We are delighted to have reached a long-term agreement with Belfast’s management, which will underpin future Ryanair growth at the Airport over the coming years."
