Cambodia: Sihanoukville airport awarded at Routes Asia Marketing Awards 2019
Sihanoukville airport wins the Routes Asia 2019 Marketing Awards (under 4 million passengers category) recognizing its marketing strategy to support airlines in their launch of new routes to Sihanoukville International Airport and for the quality of its services.
The award is highly regarded as the most prestigious award in the industry as it recognizes excellence in airport marketing as voted by airlines. Thus, the airline network planning community has a chance to express their opinion as to which airport they think provides the best overall marketing services to them.
Last year, the airport reported an exceptional growth of +92%, welcoming over 651,000 passengers. Traffic was driven by the opening of new international routes, in particular to/from Chinese cities, and between Sihanoukville and regional metropolis like Kuala Lumpur and Ho Chi Minh City. Works were also carried out with the extension and renovation of the Sihanoukville airport’s passenger terminal, contributing in unlocking the economic, touristic and social growth potential.
Thus, this award illustrates the dynamism of the VINCI Airports’ teams to continuously improve passenger experience and to support the Cambodian dynamic economy.
