Costa Rica: Guanacaste airport (LIR) awarded best airport for quality of service by the ACI
On September 4th, 2019, Airports Council International (ACI), the organization representing the world's airports, awarded Guanacaste airport (LIR), with the ASQ trophy (Airport Service Quality) of best airport for Latin America & the Caribbean in the category of “less than two million passengers per year”.
Now part of VINCI Airports international network since 2018, Guanacaste airport will keep on improving its operations and customer services in the future, tapping into best practices and knowledge from 46 airports in 12 countries.
Guanacaste airport is one of Costa Rica’s two international airports. It serves as a tourism hub for those who visit the Pacific coast and western Costa Rica. It welcomes more one million passengers per year thanks to the presence of 18 airlines with an average of 30 international flights per day, all this framed in harmony with the environment and a high commitment to quality. Guanacaste airport holds Blue Flag 5 stars, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, in addition to being the first carbon neutral terminal in the region.
