COVID-19 : VINCI Airports network mobilize
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis, airports from VINCI Airports network have been in constant contact with the local public and health authorities and are applying their recommendations to deal with this unprecedented situation. The health of our employees, passengers and all our partners on our platforms is our priority.
In compliance with the sanitary measures recommended by the competent authorities, VINCI Airports remains fully committed to fulfilling its public service missions, in particular to enable the transport of medical personnel, medical evacuations, repatriation flights, etc.
The systems put in place are also calibrated to handle the commercial flights that remain scheduled on our platforms, despite a sharp reduction in traffic due to decisions taken by the authorities.
To inform passengers in the epidemic context, airports from VINCI Airports network have set up multi-channel communications, in close coordination with local authorities.
In Chile for instance, to explain measures taken and to encourage passengers to respect safety distances, Santiago airport broadcast videos and tutorials, installed stickers on the ground every two metres, but also reminded passengers that the counters have a copper coating (a material that inhibits bacteria and viruses). In addition, a frequently asked questions section on social networks, call centres and chat rooms provided advice to travellers.
Similar initiatives were launched at Salvador airport in Brazil, at Lisbon airport in Portugal or in France, UK, etc. where social network campaigns allow passengers to find out in real time what to do if they need to change their flight.
