It’s time to book! VINCI Airports welcomes the reopening of travel between England and Portugal

VINCI Airports, which operates Portugal’s airports as well as London Gatwick in England, welcomes the UK government's decision to include Portugal on its "green list" of countries to which English nationals can travel without quarantine on their return, effective May 17.

This decision paves the way for English and Portuguese passengers to resume travel with complete peace of mind, thanks in particular to the sanitary measures put in place by VINCI Airports in its airports and certified by Bureau Veritas.

The journey will be easy and safe, but also passenger-friendly! VINCI Airports will make a range of restaurants and shops, including duty-free, available from May 17th.

With more than 2 million British travellers visiting Portugal each year before the pandemic, this reopening is a positive signal for the tourism recovery, just a few weeks before the summer vacations.

For Nicolas Notebaert, CEO of VINCI Concessions and Chairman of VINCI Airports: "reconnecting two major countries on the European continent is very good news. By recovering, the tourist economy will support employment and growth. We are also very happy to give back to passengers the pleasure of travel, the pleasure of discovering other horizons and other cultures”.
