New P3 car park to be built at Lyon-Saint Exupéry airport
Lyon-Saint Exupéry airport signed the contract covering design and construction of its future P3 car park which will become an aerial park.
The new seven-level parking silo will be near the airport's Terminal 1 and have almost 2,000 spaces, a drop-off area, reserved spaces for people with reduced mobility and charging stations for electric vehicles. It is designed to handle the significant increase in traffic while providing a smooth and simple path for passengers. It will also lower carbon emissions at this airport – which has already won several environmental awards – with a rooftop photovoltaic power station producing 100% of the electricity that the car park beneath it consumes.
