Salvador Bahia ends year with new routes all over Brazil

The VINCI Airports operated airport Salvador Bahia starts operating four new routes starting from this week. This achievement is a considerable milestone for the region as it is the first time in years that Salvador will have regular direct flights to other Brazilian states.

A first route operated by GOL Linhas Aéreas will link Salvador and Palmas, while a second route, operated by the same company, will be going to Porto Alegre and unlike before, the flights won’t be seasonal but available all year long. With this novelty, the airport will have flights to all capitals of the Northeast throughout the year, assuming an important role in intra-regional connections. The same happens with flights to Morro de S. Paulo, which will be operated by Abaeté Aviação. These openings are in line with VINCI Airports’ ambition de connect territories and communities, and Salvador Bahia airport is well on its way to become a national and international sustainable airport.

“After a very difficult year for world aviation, Salvador Bahia Airport shows its resilience and capacity for recovery. During the process of gradually resuming air travel, we assumed a strategic role as a connectivity center, taking Bahia to a place of regional prominence in aviation”, commented Marc Gordien, commercial director of Salvador Bahia Airport.
