On Sunday 28th of July, VINCI Airports’ teams welcomed the Tour de France riders at Chambéry Savoie Mont Blanc airport
Following the Tour de France stage that took place between Albertville and Val Thorens on the 27th of July, the 260 riders and their teams took off from Chambéry airport the following day to reach the Champs-Elysées and thus compete in the final stage of the competition.
VINCI Airports' teams were fully mobilized last Sunday to make this major sporting event a success. The 7 buses and its 260 runners arrived in the morning at the airport and took off in the early afternoon with 3 Embraer 190 aircrafts from Hop airlines.
Airside access has been simplified in order to allow buses to park as close as possible to the aircraft. This event is the result of several months of consultation with the Savoie prefecture, the Gendarmerie des Transports Aériens, ASO (Amaury Sport Organisation, a company that organizes and creates sporting events) and Hop.
VINCI Airports thus hosted the Tour de France at Chambéry Savoie Mont Blanc airport for the 4th consecutive year. This choice reflects ASO's renewed confidence in the airport, which constitutes a major economic development lever for the territory.
