VINCI Airports remains fully mobilized in France for the transfer of patients affected by Covid-19
Faced with this health crisis, the French airports of the VINCI Airports network are once again mobilized alongside the regional health agencies (ARS) to help relieve congestion in the intensive care services in certain regions, in particular in Auvergne Rhône Alpes, and deal with the second wave of the Covid-19 epidemic.
In less than three weeks, no less than 154 patients were transferred, thanks to 77 medical flights operated from airports part of the VINCI Airports network. Lyon-Bron, Chambéry Savoie Mont Blanc, Nantes Atlantique or even Dinard Bretagne, are all currently hosting flights relating to the medical evacuation of patients affected by Covid-19, in order to transfer them to other regions where hospitals are less crowded. An Airbus A400M was also mobilized by the French army to perform some of these patient transfer operations. All of the airports in the network will continue to pursue their public service mission and to concentrate all their efforts on its continuity in order to offer the best possible care conditions to medical teams.
