São Vicente International Airport, formerly São Pedro Airport, serves the island of São Vicente. Inaugurated in 1960, it is located near the village of São Pedro, in the Ribeira de São Pedro valley, about 5 km southwest of the center of Mindelo, Cape Verde's second-largest city. With a runway 2,000 meters long and 45 meters wide, Cesária Évora International Airport can accommodate five C-class aircraft on its platform and around 550 passengers per hour, divided between domestic and international flights.
